Learning ‘hands-on’ is a wonderful experience
A series of creative art classes are set to start at Colours on Grey. Financial support of $ 800 from The Country Arts Support Program has made it possible to get the project of it’s feet and I hope to be able to facilitate art classes on a more regular basis in drawing, painting and collage with various artists teaching their approach to art making.
Everyone can participate in the art classes, – whether you have previous experience or not. It is a great way to connect and share experience with others as well as learning new skills.
The first art class will be on Sunday the 20th May where we will explore the art of collage, using recycled and new paper materials together with paint and pen to create striking images .
Collage is an art form we all can enjoy at very low cost and artworks can be produced without any specialized tools.
This workshop will cover a short history of collage & mixed media in art-making, how to approach image design, basic colour theory and a few demonstrations. Each participant will produce a couple of collages for cards and a small 10 x 10 cm artwork of their own design.
