I was given my first camera at my 12th birthday and have been a keen photographer ever since. We were heading off on our first family summer holiday to France, and therefore my father’s old Kodak Retina Camera seemed a suitable gift. I absolutely loved it!
It was the beginning of a lifelong passion for taking photos.
Me in 1970 – ready for a summer holiday in France.

The Kodak Retina Camera, which I still have.

My father and his brother were already keen photographers, something which was rather unique in the 50’s and 60’s and thanks to them our families are today in possession of thousands and thousands of fantastic memories where they have captured the moment. And – might I ad – something they are still doing.
I went to my first photography class when I was 12 and have attended many since, using my skills to keep the family tradition going.
This is one of my very first photographs picturing Lady Olave Baden-Powell (wife of Robert Baden-Powell – founder of Scouting and Girl Guides). She was visiting a Girl Guide Summer Camp in Denmark, 1970. I was one of 7000 girl guides attending this enormous event and it was at this summer camp I had my first photography lesson.

With the purchase of a digital SLR camera a few years ago it was time again to update my skills and this year I am attending a digital photography course – and absolutely loving it !
There are so many new things to learn (including using PhotoShop) but the joys of capturing the moment is still there.
Below are a few of my newer shots…..
