It’s Wednesday morning after an exhausting and very long Tuesday working on COLOUR CONNECT at The Glen Innes Art Gallery. We managed to get most of the paintings up on the walls and a few more of the ceramics displayed. Today we hope to finish the actual installations so we can get on with writing catalogue and price tags. The work behind the scene for a self managed art exhibition is HUGE, – admittedly enjoyable – it’s a bit like preparing for a big family gathering. It takes months to prepare and in the week up to the event you work non stop. You do it because you love it and because you hope it will become one of those special memorable moments in your life.
In my case, I will actually have most of my family there on Saturday afternoon and many of my friends are travelling far to be there as well, – so these self-managed exhibitions does become a gathering of people close to me, – and for that I am very grateful, – and it makes it all worth while.
To all of you who can’t attend on Saturday, – all paintings from the exhibition will be on my website www.coloursongrey.com.au as of Sunday 1st December. Here’s the link Colour Connect and I will share plenty of images here on the blog.
COLOUR CONNECT open on Saturday 30th November at 4 pm at The Glen Innes Art Gallery and will stay open Sunday to Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm.
Until next time ……..
