I can’t believe it’s two months ago since I last wrote on my blog.
Life get’s busy and for the last couple of months I have been working very hard in the studio for my upcoming exhibition ‘COLOUR CONNECT ‘ at The Glen Innes Art Gallery.
It is just a small exhibition in a small local art gallery, – but it still gets very involved. I started painting for this show back in April having fun with oil paint and a palette knife. The colours in these first paintings reflects the cold and frosty winters we experience up here in the Northern Highlands of NSW.
Snow Mountain (oil on canvas) 26 x 20 cm
Blue Mountain (oil on canvas) 27 x 22 cm
Then I needed to paint a small painting for my cousins 50th birthday – small in the way it would fit into her suitcase as the painting would have to travel back to Seattle. She was coming to Australia to visit and to celebrate her joining the 50+ club.
Again I put my creativity on the line – giving it away as a present – again I was a bit nervous about it ( what if she didn’t like it ? ) – again I was lucky, – she loved it.
Landscape for Michelle (oil on canvas) 32 x 32 cm
Painting this special painting for her took me down a new path of painting with oils and a series of small landscape paintings developed. They are now all framed and ready to show.
‘Colour Connect’ opens on Saturday 30th November at 4 pm and will stay open from Sunday 1st December to Thursday 5th December 10 am to 4 pm.
