I am in the last week of the preparations for my upcoming exhibition ‘Winter Dialogue’ which opens Thursday 24th August.
The ‘Winter Dialogue’ paintings are a series of art works on paper and canvas.
They were painted during the last three winters and together make up more than 50 artworks. Not all of them will be part of the exhibition as they sold along the way.
The inspiration for this body of work started as an inner dialogue I had with myself whilst grieving over the passing of two beautiful souls close to me. As the season changed to winter, the frost and whiteness of the cold mornings inspired me further. I remembered peaceful winter days spent with family and friends no longer here.
I also looked back at my Nordic childhood and memories of happier days, when winters were joyful and full of excitement.
It has been quite an emotional journey creating these paintings – but also a very comforting and beautiful one. It is only now, during the end of the third Australian winter, I feel comfortable putting the paintings on show and finally letting go – being ready to move forward.
‘Winter Dialogue’ opens on Thursday 24th August at 5 pm at Colours on Grey’s Art Space – 303 Grey Street, Glen Innes and runs until 2nd of September.
All exhibited paintings will be up on the website next week.

Until next time
