Last weekend I went on a road trip around the region I have come to love so much.
I was invited to a long-table lunch amongst the olive trees at Gwydir Grove olive farm near Moree and to have a look at the harvesting and pressing of olives.
It was one of those magical days where weather, company, food, wine and a lovely setting all came together to create an unique experience.
Gwydir Grove has the most wonderful tasty olive oils, – all made here in the New England of Australia.
Olives straight of the picking truck and onto the shute that takes the olives to the press.
Beautiful fresh olive oil. We had a taste and it is quiet different from what you buy at the markets. It takes up to a year before it is ready to be bottled.
And then it was time for a delicious lunch amoungst the olive trees …..
Hope you had a great weekend too.
Until next time,
Marianne
