The last 3 months has been so busy and yet, there is still so much more to do.
The renovation and insulation of the old farm house is finally done and my ‘in-house’ studio and office is now the best place in the house. Facing east I watch the sun rise in the mornings from my new creative space. I feel very lucky !
This is how the room looked before we started the renovations.
Here is the same room – ready for the builders to start !
And this is how it looks today with the morning sun comming in.
This is the other wall – before the renovations – with some very ordinary cupboards.
And this is how it looks today. For years I have used the Ikea book shelves IVAR and have quite a collection. This time I put them on top of each other to make a 2.8 meter tall book case. Exceptionel storage space.
There is one more corner to be done – the art corner ! Hopefully I will get to that very soon as an unscheduled stay in Brisbane for a minor knee operation set things on the farm and in the studio a bit back, – but what better care can you get (being sick) than from your daughter ‘the nurse’. She spoiled me that much it felt like a holiday !
10 days later I was back on the farm limping around missing the warmth of Brisbane.
Now, 3 weeks later all is good and training with the physiotherapist is taking care of the rest – and it’s back to the business of being creative.
A series of creative art lessons and workshops are set to start in April at my studio.
Everyone can participate – whether you have previous experience or not. It is a great way to connect and share experiences with others as well as learning new skills. I like to keep the classes small (3-5 persons). That way you can learn and paint at your own pace in the creative and relaxed atmosphere of my studio.
Weekly art lessons are offered every Tuesday morning and afternoon. Each lesson will run for 3 hours. If you have work commitments or should prefer one-on-one lessons this can easily be organised and customized precisely to your requirements. One-on-one lessons are available on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Once a month, a weekend workshop will be offered with a prearranged creative project.
The first weekend workshop for 2013 will be held on April 20th and 21st. The theme is “texture in painting” and we will explore how various mediums and objects can be used to create highly textured surfaces.
As something new you can also arrange your own Art Group with your friends and have the studio and lessons to yourselves. If you prefer you can continue attending the art lesson’s as a group or you may like to keep it a onetime experience. Art Group lessons are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and selected Saturdays and Sundays.
