Despite the fresh Glen Innes weather a Sunday at the market is upon Colours on Grey. This Sunday 11th of August I am up bright and early to set up stall at the Anzac Park on East Avenue from 8 am to 12 noon.
The weather man is promising sunshine and up to 18 degrees so come along and say hello.
Besides paint, craft paper and a few artists supplies I will also have a fair few of my own creations – introducing the new gift box of mini cards, as well as new card designs. Even though I have been quite busy in the studio I am keeping those creations for my upcoming exhibition together with Max Powell in December at the Glen Innes Art Gallery.
With one exception – I painted a painting for my nephew for his 21st Β birthday.
See the painting and the story behind it here
Art classes are going well and through the winter students have been working on their own projects, which have been great to follow.
Next Sunday Art Class is scheduled for Sunday 18th August. More information on how to attend here. Everyone β from beginner to advanced β can join my creative art lessons, and no previous experience is needed or minimum skill level required.
Regular weekday lessons is also available, you can read all about it here
In October a good friend of mine – artist and printer Peter McLean – is coming to Glen Innes for a solo exhibition at The Glen Innes Art Gallery. Peter will hopefully also be holding a printing workshop as well as an artist talk. Peter used to live in Glen Innes but moved away to pursue a career as a professional artist. He is now teaching and exhibiting regularly in between overseas residencies.
Read about Peter and his art here and on his blog www.petemclean.wordpress.com
Stay warm until next time.
