There is an art to pack and unpack your car for a stall at the market.
I learned this the hard way this weekend. In my eager to bring as much as possible to the market my car was packed to the brim, – a job well done I thought.
But when packing a car for the market you need to consider the unpacking. It would have been great if the marquee was the first thing out of the car, then tables, tablecloths and display units. But no ! Not me ! Due to what I thought was common sense and also to space restrictions in my old Magna Station car all heavy stuff was at the bottom of the pile and everything else went in to maximise the use of space available.
Not the best idea, as the first thing you want to take out is your marquee.
So I ended up unloading the whole car onto the sidewalk in order to get to the marquee and tables. Double handeling and time wasted at 6.30 in the morning. You quickly learn how to do better next time.
That said, I had the most wonderful time spending Mothers Day morning in my stall under a magnificent old tree in the parks of Glen Innes.
Until next time……
